Interview
Why did you decide to start designing tees?
Gabe Connor: I've drawn my entire life so it was almost natural to follow that into my career. Designing tees came about when my friend and I were walking in a Target store in late 2001 and we saw the cheesy, low brow shirt they sold and said, "We could do this." When we attempted to do so, we decided we wanted to stay positive and relatively clean compared to a lot of the humor tees out there. That stance of 'keeping it clean' has actually really set us apart from the competition.
Where do you get your inspiration?
Gabe Connor: Usually from popular culture, inside jokes, experiences... We just stumble upon stuff by talking it through most of the time. I'm also a huge fan of cartoons and I literally get motivated from watching an awesome episode of Duck Tales or the original TMNT or something.
How quick of a designer are you?
Gabe Connor: Hah, um, I dunno. Sometimes I'll breeze through a design, especially if it's something new and exciting, and sometimes I'll invest a lot into a seemingly simple design because I want to make it just right. In grade school I would wait until the night before to get my book reports done, but I always started early on the dioramas because I wanted to do them right too.

Gabe Connor: hmm.. probably www.Drawn.ca. I also love browsing www.ffffound.com.
Where do you buy your t-shirts?
Gabe Connor: Well, considering I get Goodie shirts for free and we've designed over 600 tees, my closet is pretty biased. Every once in a while I see some gem online, but to be honest I wear a lot of collared shirts with ties. I'm a big fan of 70's suits.
Favorite movie of all time?
Gabe Connor: All time? Really? Hmmm... The Iron Giant.
