Interview

Why did you decide to start designing tees?

godmachine: I started designing tees a few years ago. I only really started to take it seriously and take it up a gear in the last 6-8 months. I started mainly through people asking for my paintings on tees and it was at the point where t-shirt businesses started becoming the new band for kids and business owners’ alike--I think I was just swept up with the movement.

Where do you get your inspiration?

godmachine: I get my inspiration from everywhere, mainly from my own feelings. I try to imagine what certain emotions would look like. I also am heavily inspired by old artists from the 90's, skateboard culture, and 2000AD a UK comic that produced the likes of Simon Bisley (Slaine), Judge Dredd, Hewletts Haircut (the guy that now does all the Gorillas stuff) and many more. At the moment all the dark heavy metal gore black and white pen drawings have got my eye. I try to absorb as many different styles and artists as possible.

How quick of a designer are you?

godmachine: Speed wise--it can either take one to 3 days to do something, sometimes longer if I forget, which I am prone to do lately. I hope I don’t piss clients off--keep emailing me!

What is your favorite blog?

godmachine: My fav' blog has to be everyone’s fav': FFFFFFFFFFound! That and horsebotes: he updates regular and is quite personal--all you want from a good blog really, now if I can only get his RSS to work!!

Where do you buy your t-shirts?

godmachine: Wow, I haven’t thought about that for ages, but its all-online now. You want something different, and the web offers that exactly. I bought a tee from a big cartel store from some girl who hand printed it in Arizona somewhere for only $7 delivery included. Everyone goes nuts over it and I think she closed down now. I love how rare you can get tees these days, thanks Mr. Internet.

Favorite movie of all time?

godmachine: Solaris....or Apoc' Now!.....ooohhh hard one...
