Interview
Why did you decide to start designing tees?
Jonathan Kruse: I probably never would have designed a shirt or started mediocre clothing if it wasn't for emptees.
Where do you get your inspiration?
Jonathan Kruse: My life. Also banksy had a big influence on me in college. I was an honor student until my last year in college. I started skipping class and wheat pasting my own clever messages all around campus. The missing turtle design was actually one of the first things I wheat pasted.
How quick of a designer are you?
Jonathan Kruse: I'm usually really quick to get the first 90% of the design finished. It's that last 10% that usually takes me forever.
What is your favorite blog?
Jonathan Kruse: I want to say my own blog, howtostartaclothingcompany.com, but besides that one I would have to say gomediazine.
Where do you buy your t-shirts?
Jonathan Kruse: I buy all of my t-shirts online. Retail stores don't carry the type of designs I'm into and if they do they're overpriced.
Favorite movie of all time?
Jonathan Kruse: Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure
